Running

Running towards my problems.

I've never been athletic. Never been good at it. Houston is hot, the sun and my allergies don't make it easy, and some mornings I really don't want to wake up and run.

I do it anyway. Rain, shine, hot, cold.

I started in late 2025 because a friend of mine had started running and really tried to convince me. It worked. My first runs, I couldn't make it much past a mile. Then I ran the Hot Chocolate 5K. Two weeks later I ran the Austin Half, which I honestly didn't think I could finish. I did.

After that I kept pushing the miles up until it wasn't fun anymore, and I burned myself out. So I took a break.

I came back in August. Now it's Houston in January, my first marathon, and I'm trying my best.

I wake up really early every day so I can run. On Saturdays it's 5am, a drive to the park, and an hour and a half with no music. Just me and whatever's on my mind. That's what I mean by running towards my problems.
